Introducing the v2.4 Release of the Yocto Project Extension for VS Code

Savoir-faire Linux is happy to introduce the v2.4.0 release of the official Yocto Project extension for VS Code.

These developments were carried out as part of the investment provided by the Sovereign Tech Fund to the Yocto Project to improves the long-term sustainability of the project by attracting a new generation of developers.

The changelog for this release:

  -  Publish on open-vsx/Codium open source alternative
  -  Add commands to start and open Toaster
  -  Stop activating when .conf and .inc files are opened
      -  Instead uses the "files.association" setting
  -  Alphabetically sort recipes in the tree view panel
  -  Internal refactoring for packaging

New feature: Open-VSX/Codium Support

We have published our extension on the Open VSX, check it out here .

New feature: Toaster Quick Start

We have added commands to conveniently start and stop Toaster. An alternative to starting Toaster with the command is now to go to the context menu of any bitbake file and find the start option in the bitbake submenu. Please note that closing the VS Code instance would also stop Toaster.
